Disappointing Cabin Maintence and Attention to Cabin Problems

Review summary

We had only been on the ship for an hour when black particles starting coming out of the air conditioner/heat vent all over our bed in our suite.  We reported the issue before we left port but it was not addressed and continued to happen. That evening after insisting on something to be done we were taken to another suite to sleep that first night. The next morning, thinking our problem was addressed we went back to our suite only to find nothing had been done. We asked for the hotel manager twice to no avail. Finally in the afternoon, the problem appeared to be fixed only to come back 2 days later and this time came out of both vents. It was then insinuated by our concierge that no one else was having the problem and that we were making a big deal out of nothing. If you touched the black particles they would smear so it was hard to know what they were whether mold or soot. Maintenance came a second time and cleaned both vents well.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the cabin stewards, the dining room staff and the food. They were amazing! So sad that the room experience tainted the whole experience. We also did not get any type of "I'm sorry" from any of the staff except the cabin stewards.

Sudarmoko in the Dining Room was the best. The concierge was not helpful at all. Putu and Pram, the cabin stewards were amazing! Our cabin bed had to be redone several times because of all the black stuff on the linens from the ac vent. He never complained but made sure the linens were changed and clean always.

Ship Quality

This was no reflection on the cabin stewards. They did a great job. The ship was older and the black particles coming out of the air conditioner/heat vent showed lack of maintenance.

The cabin was nice and roomy but due to all the issues with the black particles on our bed and coffee table and the lack of attention to this issue was very upsetting. We also got moved to another room for one night so they could supposedly fix the problem. The other suite bathroom smelled like urine and there was a rag in the air vent in the bathroom of that room.

Ship tip

Suites have lots of nice perks such as the Neptune lounge that has food most of the day and tea, water and cranberry juice. Suite guests can go to the Pinnacle Grill for cooked breakfast each morning. Suite guests have free laundry too!.

Many things were closed because of the time of year we were there. Would definitely go to "Testa's" next time!

Im curious to see if you were in suite 003. We had black soot mold particles go all over us while we slept. We both woke up to a bad respiratory infection cough they turned off our ac and the night before we got off the ship they turned the ac back on and the black soot particles were all over us again.
