Boston to Montreal

Sail Date: August 06, 2016

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

This is actually a very busy cruise.  Only 1 day at sea.  Bar Harbor, Halifax, Quebec, and Montreal are excellent ports with great excursions.  We had thought about going around Montreal on our own before going to the airport and VERY glad we took the tour with the airport drop off at the end.  We forgot that all the signs are in French.  Would have been tough to navigate on our own.  Halifax Victorian gardens are a definite pick to see.  Veendam is just big enough to have lots going on and not so big that it becomes a zoo.  We were pleasantly surprised that the weather was less hot than we braced for in August.  We didn't think to bring an umbrella that was needed in Quebec.  All in all we really relaxed on this cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom
Being at the front of the ship meant hardly any hall traffic and nobody across the hall from us. It also made us work off all the meals as we were on deck 4 forward and the dining room is deck 7 aft while the Lido deck is 11 with the food at the back. This cabin has a bath tub/shower.

Stayed the night before near the Kennedy Library (Doubletree) and walked along the shore to it prior to checking out and getting a hotel shuttle to the cruise ship.
Montreal, Quebec
If your flight home is after 3 p.m. you can take the tour of Montreal that ends up dropping you off at the airport instead of paying for airport transfer.

Tip

If you are a card player, there is a interest board on the 8th deck near the digital workshop area, but the card room (Hudson) is on the 7th deck.
