Very sedate and conservative cruise

Sail Date: July 08, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Parts of the ship were really lovely. There was only one pool which had to be emptied twice due to bacteria. The toilet and water systems failed on some decks. Staterooms were good sized but mold was in the bathroom.
Meals were fine. The entertainment was poor with the exception of a comic, Jeff Neiss, who was terrific. Games on board were relaxing.

Pros: Friendliness of staff

Cons: Entertainment

Recommends Veendam? No.

Ship Quality
Old ship...some nice areas\, but I've seen much better.
Food and Dining
Cabin / Stateroom
Very roomy with lots of storage...bathroom could have been cleaner.
Service and Staff
Entertainment
Children's Programs
Few children on board. Teen pool was never opened.
