Enjoy every minute. A wonderful experience. Staff are happy and always smiling, they make you feel like extended family. Our holiday was so good we booked again on our return home for our next holiday with this ship to go to Norway 2018. We hope to meet the Darwin, Antonio and Victoria again.

Get to islands early

Enjoy yourself. We had a wonderful time. But if you are traveling without children and you like a quiet cruise then don't book on school holidays. We were on it June 2016 and it was a lot less crowded. Sun beds were plentiful. We find that when family's are on that they don't leave the ship.

JUST DO IT, excellent time

Don't expect a First Class experience, as many rules are not put into operation, but especially on dress smartness at Dinner. However, as the Cruise was reasonably priced, I was we got what we paid for and were generally happy to content and got on with our holiday

if Dining in Islands, make after 8:30 as you are more likely to get a table.

Do not book a suite underneath the glass house. Noise constant of trollies being pulled and loaded throughout the whole night as they are now so short staffed they have to do a night shift. Reception managers aware of this and all the constant noise till 5.30 am. Complained every night throughout the night. Was a nightmare. No sleep at night meant trying to sleep in day. Then maintenance started chipping and banging away at three balconies below us on deck 7 as we were in port. They were removing old paint and repainting. Noise reverberated throughout. Could apparently hear from where you disembark. This was now above us at night and below us in the day when docked. We were going insane with sleep deprivation, and we had paid an extra £1500 for a suite and the privilege. They claimed ship was full to capacity. We even offered to be downgraded to an inside cabin for sleep. We were desperate to just get Home. I became ill second week. A lot of people onboard was sick with flu like symptoms, chest infections. Some even having antibiotic drips put up. They offered us £300 back for noise nuisance. I accepted but in retrospect should have pursued extra money back spent in suite upgrade.

Do it and don't hesitate

Wouldn't recommend it. The ship is tried and needs sorting. If you smoke be ready to share 8 ashtrays sit in the baking sun as there is no shade also ur pushed out the way not involed in day time actives. The bar closes at 7ish so you have to go to the next bar for a drink

Try a different one.

Choose a midship/forward cabin on lower decks, due to noise from thrusters

I'd probably say, and I don't mean this as a negative, you get what you pay for... Value for money Marella would have to be right up there, but my thoughts are that the major lines do things a bit better hence the greater cost. In summary, I think for 1st time cruisers, Marella would be a great choice, but if you have used other lines you will find it difficult not to compare.
