I have just returned from a cruise around the Mediterranean on this ship,this was after I said last October that I would not do a cruise on this ship again after my disappointment we have been on the Thomson Spirit and the majesty earlier this year and had a fantastic time.
Well we’re do I start cruise ships pride themselves on the food they serve(not on this Thomson ship) they should be embarrassed with what they serve up to say they are consistent would be correct in the seven days I was on board I never got a meal that was warm never mind hot
No matter how hard I tried
I thought I would try poached eggs one morning after a wait of minimum 5 mins I had to ask again as they had not been done
I drew this to the attention of a chap in charge who then could not do enough for me but the mood had gone
I said to him I would get some thing when I go ashore as my party we’re waiting for me
One last thing about the service we went into the restaurant 47 ordered our meals first course came no problem main course there was a delay for this but we accepted what they said about being busy loads of empty tables so could not see why
Then after a 20 min wait for our desert even after we had been told it was on its way twice we left without
There are several good points about the ship it is a nice layout easy to get round it’s a shame about the food
Another point I raised with several members of staff was the lack of use of the hand sanitizers
Both returning to the ship and around the restaurants I know this is down to the passengers

We have been on over thirty cruise to date 97% with Thompson’s we have enjoyed most even when it went wrong all the good things out weighed the bad
We have now said that we will never ever waste any more money on a Thomson holiday
I will never darkened there door again
They don’t care about customer care anymore they seem to think they don’t need to bother
Have been back a week after doing a 2 week cruise on the discovery. This is my 2nd year aboard and I have found the ship to be impressive. The staff are very friendly and if they can do any for you they will. The ship is very clean and well maintained. Mostly ate in 47 and found the food to be excellent,though could do with some more waiters at times when it gets really busy. Overall enjoyed my holiday and am booked to go back on board next year.
had a brillant 2 week cruise, kids and baby room couldn't be better. my only issue with the ship was they made us spend 2 weeks sleeping in a room to small with ac not working and dust constantly blowing in, making myself and husband, 9yr and 15 month old unwell and there was nothing done or any sorry made x
Really enjoyed it. Never been on cruise before so pleasantly surprised. Met lots of lovely people. Would definitely go on another cruise. Think it helped that the first week there were no children and the second around 40.
Just returned from 14 nights on Discovery . Very very good was a bit wary to be honest as been on a few Princes cruises but was very satisfied with the price and outcome of the holiday, so much have booked for next year on the new Adventure ship . To be critical I would say the towels in the bathroom had seen better days but that’s a small gripe very small , the staff were friendly and caring , food was very good and all inclusive bar was very good
One word, fantastic! 😎We had a great cruise, great stop offs. We tried all the restaurants on the ship and they were excellent. We did the bike ride on the second week round beautiful Malaga. We did the Tuscany wine and cheese tour to see the sites. Only place I thought was tatty was Lisbon in Portugal. Drearily and full of graffiti and homeless people. Oh and it rained! Apart from that all was brilliant! 😃
second time this year on discovery .loved it the first time and loved it again this time. Almost all the crew and staff we came into contact with we found to be friendly and happy to help. I say almost as there was one lady behind the pool bar who I found quite rude on more that one occasion. She just threw my sea card back onto the bar when returning it. would it be so hard just to place it into my outstretched hand? can only think she got out of bed the wrong side that morning. all the other staff were fab tho. The only other slight criticism I had was the shows, not nearly as good as on the celebration. All the fake American accents really did grate and can't think why they thought they needed to do that. But that said a great holiday and would not hesitate to go again
First time on the discovery and overhaul a excellent holiday, but there were a couple of faults that Thompson could easily address
• On the sea day they had a couple of staff placing warning tickets on unattended sun beds saying that they were going to remove your towel , although your wife / husband were sunbathing on the next sun bed and advised the staff that you were in the pool. WHY ????
• During the course of the early hours we were woken with very loud banging above our heads during the two weeks on board, cabin number 3529. This happened on several occasions and it took customer service four attempts to put this right. We did ask to move but we were told that the ship was full. We were told that the noise was coming from the live lounge pantry. In fairness we were compensated ( £195 ) , after insisting to speak to a customer service manager. Be warned.
• Entertainment in the Broadway show lounge was disappointing. Strange songs being sung in a strange key, but on a positive they did have Andy Abraham as a guest artist who was very good, but they had him performing in the Atrium which had very limited seating. Strange.
We have booked to go on the Discovery 2 next Easter and looking forward to it
was our 1st cruise and we loved every minute of it if we could of tipped all staff on we would of they made the holiday thanks to you all we are booking with Thomson and for next year carribian can't thanks once again amazing experience.
It was our first cruise and we arrived on board as a party of 11 people. Everything on board was above our expectations. The overall general friendliness on board created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. A special mention must go to the house keeping staff Art and Nelson who got on well with my autistic son Jordan and provided a great hospitality service.
Wonderful experience, lovely ship, staff happy and make you feel like part of a family and treat you as a person and not a number as they do on the bigger ships. Great atmosphere. So good we booked to go again with the Tui Discovery on our return home.
Loved everything about it but it was my first cruise so I have nothing to compare it to my husband on the other hand struggled with the food as he is ceoalic and there was not a lot of choices of food for him
