Cruised with Thomson before loved... by glojoy

Sail Date: /
Cruised with Thomson before loved the islands we visited but spoilt by being so tired through noise of ship's engines shows very good but disappointed with other entertainment such as piano not for us! News years eve disappointed get one good song then just rubbish did they not see the age group? Would have loved to have danced the night away on deck usually go off with Rod Stewart sailing we have left Tenerife on New Year's Eve before with fireworks and deck party feel the music was suited for Thomson staff very disappointed !

Put us off cruising for life by MargaretAnn1

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple
Have done several cruises, never had reason to complain before about any of them. First time with Thompson Marella as they are now called and will be the last. Only happy memory was knowing it was time for Home. £6,800 total for a holiday. Was a waste of money. Never to be repeated

I have just returned from... by traffic

Sail Date: /
I have just returned from a cruise around the Mediterranean on this ship, this was after I said last October that I would not do a cruise on this ship again after my disappointment we have been on the Thomson Spirit and the majesty earlier this year and had a fantastic time. Well we’re do I start cruise ships pride themselves on the food they serve(not on this Thomson ship) they should be embarrassed with what they serve up to say they are consistent would be correct in the seven days I was on board I never got a meal that was warm never mind hot No matter how hard I tried I thought I would try poached eggs one morning after a wait of minimum 5 mins I had to ask again as they had not been done I drew this to the attention of a chap in charge who then could not do enough for me but the mood had gone I said to him I would get some thing when I go ashore as my party we’re waiting for me One last thing about the service we went into the restaurant 47 ordered our meals first course came no problem main course there was a delay for this but we accepted what they said about being busy loads of empty tables so could not see why Then after a 20 min wait for our desert even after we had been told it was on its way twice we left without There are several good points about the ship it is a nice layout easy to get round it’s a shame about the food Another point I raised with several members of staff was the lack of use of the hand sanitizers Both returning to the ship and around the restaurants I know this is down to the passengers Bernard Cloherty

Do not book a suite underneath the glass house. Noise constant of trollies being pulled and loaded throughout the whole night as they are now so short staffed they have to do a night shift. Reception managers aware of this and all the constant noise till 5.30 am. Complained every night throughout the night. Was a nightmare. No sleep at night meant trying to sleep in day. Then maintenance started chipping and banging away at three balconies below us on deck 7 as we were in port. They were removing old paint and repainting. Noise reverberated throughout. Could apparently hear from where you disembark. This was now above us at night and below us in the day when docked. We were going insane with sleep deprivation, and we had paid an extra £1500 for a suite and the privilege. They claimed ship was full to capacity. We even offered to be downgraded to an inside cabin for sleep. We were desperate to just get Home. I became ill second week. A lot of people onboard was sick with flu like symptoms, chest infections. Some even having antibiotic drips put up. They offered us £300 back for noise nuisance. I accepted but in retrospect should have pursued extra money back spent in suite upgrade.
