Favorite ports were definately Valletta and Montnegro, and we are planning to visit both for longer periods sometime in the future.
Taranto is one place that the cruise would benefit from steering clear of, either visit somewhere else or stay longer in Valletta.
While the local authorities took great efforts to make us welcome this feeling did not extend to the locals, it felt more like we were in the way rather than visitors willing to spend good solid Euro's in their town.
This was our 1st cruise with Thomson, and we really enjoyed it. The ship was great (showing it's age in some ways, but still lovingly maintained) and the crew were a really happy, friendly team. The crew could not do enough for us, the entertainment was excellent - one show was better than the next! The food was great with a huge choice over the week. We especially enjoyed the "Farewell to Venice" on deck 10, with champagne and canapés and brilliant views of Venice. There was a small extra charge for this, but worth every penny!
First night was very hectic.... the queue to check in was far to long a wait.... When we did get on the boat and we just got to our room and we had to do the fire drill for another half hour .... this needs to be thought out
Excellent service throughout.........
ship is kept very clean and the food was of a high quality. Plenty of everything......
The Compass Resturant needs to be able to seat groups of 10.... we found this quiet frustrating that we had to be split up for dinner
The whole experience was relaxed, friendly & comfortable, the food was excellent, we ate in the lido most time which was informal with loads of choice for every palett, we also used formal restaurant which was lovely too but I wanted a chilled holiday & the lido suited us, the shows where fantastic & very professional, u were not hassled to buy photos & other Nick nacks life some cruise liners, I would highly recommend it!
Excellent service on board the Thompson Spirit. Food was brilliant, we opted for the all inclusive package therefore the drinks were plentiful. Our party was 10 in total,a bit problematic at times seating us all together for dinner in the restaurant which was a shame. Various flights arriving at the same time did cause delays in boarding the ship. Possibly this is something which needs to be looked at. Shame about the delay on our return. Would like to say that despite the above hiccups we all had a brilliant holiday. Excursion to Jerusalem and Bethleham was amazing, Santorini was spectacular, Marmaris very pretty and Antalya so friendly. Big shout out to the cabin staff who worked so hard in keeping our rooms spotless. The staff who served us at dinner and those in the bar areas who made sure we always had a drink and always served us with a smile. We will be back 😊
Loved every minute of it, and wishing I was still onboard. Hate coming home from a cruise. Was nice to see the staff again and have pics and a catch up.. Will definitely be going on the Spirit again before it goes end of November. My cousin enjoyed it, but very doubtful if he will be joining me this year. I want to do the Dubrovnik itinerary in the autumn 2017, just a shame that as a solo traveller it wont let me book 2 weeks, but only a week.
