Review summary

As always we had a great vacation on RCI. Coco Cay was fantastic even after our visit was a week after Hurricane Dorian. This is a must visit.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The app set sail pass and mobile check in made embarkation very convenient. Arrived at 10:30 and the entire process took about 15 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
6th cruise on RCI and the food was very good. Did not partake in the speciality dining this time but the main dining room was very good as was the buffet.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The activities were consistent with past Oasis class ships and were equally as good. We always enjoy the game shows (Quest, Love and Marriage etc), pool and karaoke.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The productions were excellent. Hairspray, Flight, Ice Show and comedy acts were probably the best we have experienced. Would have been a 5 star but the Aquashow was not quite as good. Seemed to be more dancing and less diving.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was top notch. 1st night in the main dining room we had a less than stellar main waiter. On the 2nd night we asked for a different table (my time dining) and the staff couldn’t have been any better) we asked for the same table the rest of the cruise. The main waiter then said for us to bypass the check in line and simply go straight to our table every night from that point on.since we had our shows pre-scheduled. That was fantastic!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love the Oasis Class. El Loco Fresh was a great addition. Always a line but it moves very quickly.

Ship tip

Make sure to schedule your shows and entertainment in advance through the Cruise Planner well ahead of your sailing. Once the performances are scheduled then schedule My Time reservations if using The Main Dining Room to fit your needs. Once your shows are reserved plan on arriving about 30 minutes prior to show time for the best seats. If seating is not a priority you should still plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to the event.

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Wonderful Snorkeling Catamaran excursion on Castaway Cat catamaran. Swam with turtles with beautiful reef.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Not a ton of options. We did the 4x4 Jeep tour of the Island. It was fun because we had a fantastic guide (Shaun) on Greg’s Safari Tours

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
We arrived the day prior to sailing and toured Miami on our own. The Million Dollar Home Boat Tour was great

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
1st time we had disembarked with the facial recognition. It was incredibly fast (little scary about how far technology has advanced) but sure made exiting the ship a breeze.
