Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

The Sun Princess is a little out dated and needs to be replaced. There is no enclosed observation decks other then the dining room. The room air conditioner was not working which made our inside room warm. They said that there was nothing wrong with the air conditioner. The food was of poor qaulity, not at all what I was exspecting from Princess. There was also some confusion at the ports when we went to take an exscurtion we were told to go to several differnt areas. Nobody seemed to be in charge.

Pros: Getting off the ship.

Cons: The food.

Recommends Sun Princess? No.

Ship Quality
The ship has a poor and confusing layout.
Service and Staff
Most of the staff were freindly and helpful.
The shows were good. We took my parents who had never been on a cruise before so that would most likely rate the entertainment as the best part of the cruise.
Food and Dining
We have taken several cruises in the past, and this was by far the worst food we have ever had on a cruise. Everything from the main dining room, the buffet and even the pool side dining was bad.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom seemed small. Shower was very small. The staterooms were warm and the air conditioning was not working. We called and complained about it being so warm and was told that they had checked on it and found it working properly. Several other passengers in our area also had complained about the air not working.
Skagway, Alaska
We took the train to the summit: While this is a simple 3 - 3 1/2 hour train ride to the summit then back down the same tracks it was still a nice ride. My dad is a big train buff so he really enjoyed it. Great scenery, you go through several tunels and across several trussels. Save your big shopping for Skagway they had the best prices.
Ketchikan, Alaska
We did the City /Totem park tour: It was OK. The town is small and easy to walk. Get off the main tourist streets that most of the shops are owned by the cruise lines and support the local retailers.
Victoria, British Columbia
Victoria is a beautiful city. We did not do any tours in Victoria since we had visited here in March.
Juneau, Alaska
We took the Mendenhall Glacier tour: We had plently of time to see the glacier and then get back into town and walk around. again get away from the tourist traps and see the town.
