The ship is small so it is easy to navigate. Most everything you will be looking for is on the promenade deck ( deck 8). The mix and piano bar and the explores lounge for a coffe or tea. The navigation deck pool is not as crowded as the main pool.
The Statendam is one of four older ships with the capacity for 1250 passengers which is a plus as far as we are concerned but her age is getting to be a real downside and we would not sail on her again. She is going to Australia at the end of 2015 to be a part of P&0.
Your sister cruiseline used to offer late night pizza for those of us looking for just a little something. The one night we ate a light dinner and went upstairs for something there was nothing that appealed, just Chinese food.
This cruise was mainly old couples. Not many children, and not much for them to do.
