The Mix bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and listen to live music. Solo guitarist in the early evening and Piano in the late evening.
The ship is small so it is easy to navigate. Most everything you will be looking for is on the promenade deck ( deck 8). The mix and piano bar and the explores lounge for a coffe or tea. The navigation deck pool is not as crowded as the main pool.
Lido deck has great food and the dinning room staff was very attentive and friendly.
Select a range from the onboard activities...we enjoyed learning the history of the region, bidding on some art and taking a day at the spa.
Go out on deck 6 to the front, go thru glass doors and up steps to get on the bow outside. Also in gym deck 11 is a door to go outside. it gets you in front .Less people to see glaciers.
Really enjoyed Duncan Tuck and Amber with the Hal Cats. Servers in the Ocean bar were great/
Crow's Nest Happy Hour was economical and a lively place to be from 4 to 5 o'clock daily.
The Showplace has excellent entertainment as well as the piano bar
Ship sold not need to elaborate.
The Statendam is a smaller ship and there was no waiting in line for anything
The Statendam is one of four older ships with the capacity for 1250 passengers which is a plus as far as we are concerned but her age is getting to be a real downside and we would not sail on her again. She is going to Australia at the end of 2015 to be a part of P&0.
The mix on the ship, is a great place to sit relax listen to great music and enjoy a cocktail
Lido food was very good. Only complaint, it was not open enough.
The Statendam needs to be retired or to be overhauled to correct its many deficiencies.
Dine non-traditional but try to get used to dining room staff so you get same location/table, about every evening.
Your sister cruiseline used to offer late night pizza for those of us looking for just a little something. The one night we ate a light dinner and went upstairs for something there was nothing that appealed, just Chinese food.
This cruise was mainly old couples. Not many children, and not much for them to do.
