This was our fifth HA cruise, and we found the Statendam to be our best experience! The crew was hardworking (they always are), exceptionally friendly and adept at accommodating the needs of the passengers. The captain was also involved, and we enjoyed his daily communications and presentations. We were surprised to find that smoking was allowed in the Crow's Nest. On other cruises we have found that deck to be a good place for socializing. I spoke to the captain about this and he said he is working on the problem.

We attribute some of the difficulties with activities to the attempts to eradicate the virus. We also found the sound levels during the shows to be painfully loud.
