The Best Vacation Ever!

Sail Date: May 30, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The staff was the most efficient in our cruise history. The ship was definately right up at the top of our list for ships. Clean, friendly staff, outstanding entertainment aboard and exceptional food and service.

Pros: Glacier Bay was one of natures most remarkable beauties to ever behold. Breathtaking!!

Cons: There was not one thing we did not enjoy.

Recommends Statendam? Yes!

Service and Staff
When you have 2 staff to every one passenger, you have service that is adequate for all your needs. We were most impressed with the friendly service of all the staff.
Food and Dining
What can I say! It is the best food of any ship we have sailed on. We enjoyed the option of open dining to meet people from all over the world.
Ship Quality
The ship is mid-sized with every ammenity desired. It is beautiful and easy to get around with all the assets of a larger ship. Very impressive!
Cabin / Stateroom
The stateroom was actually a little larger than we expected. It was clean and nicely decorated with plenty of closet/drawer space. A nice touch was a tub in the bathroom.
Entertainment
Good variety of entertainment with plenty of things in the ships program to do. We especially enjoyed the cooking classes on board.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Great shopping. Enjoyed the restful seaport alot.
Don't Miss: Glacier gardens and especially Mendenhall Glacier!
Juneau, Alaska
Shopping is great. We really had fun at the Red Dog Saloon.
Don't Miss: Horse drawn trolley for a good tour of the port.
Skagway, Alaska
Once again . . . great shopping.
