We reported it immediately and the cabin stewards sprayed, gave us an electric fan and hoped it would go away. By the third day of unbearable stench and lack of sleep we went to the Hotel Manager, who said he would "look into it" - Whether he did or not is unknown because we were informed, shortly thereafter that "there was no odor." To add insult to injury, our requests for another cabin were denied because they were full and our requests to be allowed to sleep elsewhere on the boat were also denied. Other passengers talked of the odor, even though the Hotel Manager assured us he'd never heard of such a thing.
Eventually, we got someone to come and clean the air conditioning vents - which helped for about 48 hours until the stench came back.
We were ok with the fact that most amenities have an extra charge, including sodas, flavored coffee and most classes (like cooking or pilates), but we draw the line at putrid smells.
Had our elderly parents not been on the ship with us, we'd have disembarked in the next port.
To cap things off... they lost my luggage between the ship and Anchorage airport... it's been three days and I'm still waiting.
Pros: The cabin and diningroom staff were wonderful
Cons: The constant unpleasant, sewer-like smell that was piped into our cabin from the air vents and the dishonest management that said it was taken care of.
