We had not cruised for a few years and we were totally turned off by the NEW Princess Lines!!
With their old fashioned liquor rules - they stole bottles from several peoples’ luggage upon boarding the ship and claimed they destroyed them. We know for a fact that the liquor taken from hand luggage was turned over to Princess intact. Princess opened and removed our bottles from our luggage - The security company refused to open people’s luggage as they were not a government department and did not have the right to open out luggage. If it was destroyed at sea as claimed, what did they do pore it out into the ocean. Not a very environmentally friendly thing to do. Everyone aboard the ship fell that they just simple added it to their inventory.
Every time you turned around they were in your pockets for more money. You cannot even get a free cup of coffee unless you are in the dining room or cafeteria.
I had to purchase some Cold medication from the store - 18% gratuity added to it.I doubt that that wsa passed on to the staff as inferred.
We will give our Platinum status onboard, but I doubt we will ever use as we presently feel that we will not cruise again with Princess or any of her sister ship lines as we feel that this is corporate policies - not the staff. Actually the staff was great, although they were very uneasy with enforcing the rules.
