Princess never fails to please

Sail Date: July 15, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Princess always maintains the highest degree of professional staff. Do not recommend Lotus Spa - very intimidating (book a facial and they will present a \"program\" for you - with products totalling more than $1,000). Be VERY FIRM when you book a service and do not get coerced into additional services. BEWARE - services are discounted towards end of cruise - and you can save more than $20 on a facial.

Pros: Cleanliness\, food quality\, accommodating staff (dining room\, buffet\, cabin)\, quality productions

Cons: expensive tours\, disorganized re-boarding following tours\, not enough time in ports

Recommends Star Princess? Yes!

Ship Quality
Wonderful layout providing you are in the midship section. Very clean\, nice decor\, public areas are always elegant.
Food and Dining
Only rated it \"good\" because I had a foreign object in my dinner - no excuse but staff were very apologetic. This particular cruise was not enjoyable as far as the waiter - he was not friendly and very impatient - not at all the \"usual\" friendly and accommodating dining room waiter.
Cabin / Stateroom
Perfect size for 2 people - children and grandchildren were \"overcrowded\" - always clean and cabin stewardess was marvelous.
Service and Staff
Staff is always eager to help when things are not right - very accommodating.
Entertainment
Although professional\, the dancers and singers did not perform many shows - those they did were above average - but as some were canceled or impossible to attend due to change in tours and itinerary\, it was our loss.
Children's Programs
My grandchildren (7 and 9) were separated and very unhappy (the 9 year old was invited to join her younger sister but the ages were 3-7 - much too great a difference in ages). The 7 year old was not allowed with the 9 year old group - so they refused to participate - very unfortunate.
