Beware the shopping desk

Sail Date: April 01, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

We cruised the Western Caribbean and went shopping at The House of Diamonds in Ocho Rios with the shopping desk representative. She recommended a diamond to us that could be made into a ring. We hesitated, and she said don't worry, there's a "no questions asked" 30 day return policy. Buy it, bring it home and have it appraised. We did, and it was appraised, twice, at $2000 less than we paid for it. They told us we'd "pay much more at home". Here we are months later, trying to get someone, either Princess or House of Diamonds, to honor the guarantee. It looks like a hopeless cause. We can not recommend Princess in any way.

Cons: The staff at the shopping desk

Recommends Star Princess? No.
