Review summary

The ship overall was OK and the staff were fine. Some of them complained about their jobs and desire to quit openly with the passengers which I felt was inappropriate. It did speak to an overall moral issue with employees of Royal Carribean. The food selections were mediocre - nothing creative or exceptional and the preparation was basically flavorless. The other Royal Carribean cruises had very creative selections and the preparation was superb. The "rock band" that seemed to be playing everywhere (around the pool and in the main atrium) were just annoying. The overuse of the mog synthesiser and the singer were nothing short of irritating for us and the other passengers we spoke to.

Pros: Competance and friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the overall ship, the itinerary.

Cons: The food was mediocre and basically flavorless compared to other Royal Carribean cruises we have taken. The Phillipino rock band was nothing short of annoying but the swing band and violin with piano was excellant.

Recommends Splendour of the Seas? No.
