Have been on four different cruises, and this was the best! Embarkation was a breeze, we were on board in less than 30 minutes from start to finish. The food in the dining room was excellent every day. The more casual buffet was good, but not on the same level as that served in the dining room. The service was friendly and quick. This cruise line offers more benefits and less working hours to its crew, which is evident in their satisfaction on the job. All seemed really pleased to be of service. There was also a very international flair to each class of employee. Many, many countries were represented at all levels. The shopping at ship-recommended stores was disappointing in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. It would have been better to get off the beaten path and bargain hunt elsewhere. The shore excursion to the Rain Forest in Costa Rica was excellent, but don't expect to see a great deal of wildlife or birds. The coast to coast train ride in Panama was great, but the bus tour at the other end could use much improvement and the box lunch was dismal. Be sure to bring your own food on this one! We also went to Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica. Surprise, surprise....for those of you who do not know, this is an extremely athletic event that involves climbing up 600 ft. of rocks IN THE FALLS, with water rushing everywhere and 200 people all trying to go up together. We bailed out at the half-way point and walked back up the trails with the folks who had more sense than we did. Riding a bus in Jamaica is not for the faint of heart. It seems to be a national past-time to pass every vehicle on a narrow two lane road in the face of on-coming traffic, with horns blowing and brakes squealing. (Do not sit behind the bus driver - you can see this all too clearly.) The scuba dives in Cozumel and Grand Cayman were reported to be terrific by those of us who participated. Also recommend the stingray tour. Would love to cruise on this ship again, and we are planning to do the Mediterranean for our next cruise so we may get the chance!
