I understand that this is an older ship and that is the only reason I gave it as high as an average overall rating. Had a lot of bad experiences and staff was less than helpful which surprised us because the staff in the terminal went out of their way to be helpful. That ceased after we were on board.

Food and Dining

The food was very good but was very disappointed with no lobster night. The dining room however was awful. We were stuck in a corner with partitions every where so you couldn't see anything. The whole dining room was partitioned off. Our table had a bench seat against the wall on one side and the partition on another and was covered in a velvet which made it impossible to slide over to get in and out. Our wait staff left something to be desired. Our assistant waiter was new and I felt so bad for him because our waiter kept pointing it out and saying how she couldn't give us good service because of him. Seems she could have been a little more helpful and less critical. Our head waiter started off bad but did get better and we only saw the bartender twice the whole week. We also noticed some tables (the ones we could see) seemed to get a lot better service and were offered after dinner drinks and things we never were offered. When you cruise you expect better service!

We thought the entertainment could have been better. We enjoyed the piano bars and the dueling pianos.

Service and Staff

Dining staff was poor, room steward could have been more helpful.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It's an older ship so I'll try to be kind. It was clean and the decor was fine. It was easy to find our way around.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very small but it is an older ship. Steward was not very helpful considering they lost our luggage from the terminal to our room because they said we didn't have tags on our bags. When they finally found them the tags we had put on were there. We pointed them out to him and there was no comment.

Pros: Staff in the terminal was very helpful

Cons: Our Table in the Dining Room

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas? No.
