the first thing that you'll notice about the Sovereign of the Seas that it is indeed one of the smallest cruise vessels on the market today. try to avoid staying on deck 2 if at all possible - there wasn't much room to move around at all. however, the stateroom attendants were all very friendly. the dining room staff were quick and nice as well. there are two swimming pools and two whirpools as well - it's possible to find times when none of them are crowded. it's also not unfeasible to find some peace and quiet. there is a lounge called the viking crown on the 14th deck that was almost completely deserted when we were there. vessel also offers a casino, plentiful bars, and good live entertainment for adults as well as children/teens.

Food and Dining

dining times were great, decor was fine. variety was probably the most disappointing. the "main entrees" were always very nicely garnished but if one were to order off the "alternative choices" it would be somewhat underwhelming. food was also overcooked except for the pizza place. paying 6 dollars per day per person to drink sodas is somewhat of a ripoff as well.

lots of choices, lots of things to do that fit any type of budget.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
superior attention to detail and comfort.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
small vessel, friendly common areas, intuitive design, clean, well decorated, well maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

our deck (2) had very small rooms, but the decor and attention to detail and cleanliness made up for all of that. we lucked out and had a stateroom that wasn't too far in the front or too far in the back.

honestly, don't get an excursion here. rent a scooter (but be very careful) and get a map of the island. there's so much to see that the excursions don't show you. bacardi rum has a distillery, kalik has a brewery, and there are beaches and little coral/limestone juttings that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise. if you want, ride to the parts of town you want to see and it'd still be cheaper.
Don't Miss: northwest point was beautiful, also - try the conch restaurants

Pros: Numerous activity choices for onboard activities, great service, friendly people, able to find quiet areas to relax

Cons: staterooms on deck 2 are demure to say the least, most of the food was overcooked

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas? Yes!
