Sovereign of the Seas Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas

Review SummaryBoarding was great, fast and easy. Good parking area at Port Canaveral. Not enough activities for teens and kids. The door to the adjoining cabin was unlocked when we got to our cabin and could only be locked with a key. It took several times asking in person, by phone, and then a trip to the main desk demanding to get them to lock the door so we did not have to carry our items the rest of the day. We traveled with friends and ahead of time requested to be seated at the same dinner table. This request was not granted ahead of time so we were told to go to the dining hall after boarding but when we did we were advised that it could not be changed. We all made the decision to eat else where during the trip and did so. This decision did not hurt us but only the waiting staff at our tables who did not get a graituity from any of our group.
My husband wanted some cheese and crackers during the daytime so we all headed to the winjammer cafe to get a plate to take back to the pool area but were refused entry because one person in our party did not have on shoes. It's vacation who wears shoes. This was our 5th cruise and this is the first cruise that did not offer a food area that served hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches. We have a teen daughter that is not fond of the cruise "fancy" food as she calls it and likes to go with other teen friends to this burger bar. This ship has a restaurant called Johnny Rockets instead and you have to purchase these food items. Great music and staff at this restaurant though. The ship did offer a free pizza bar. The ship is older and could use a few updates. We moved the bed the second morning in the room because it was up against one wall with only room to get out on the other side and also because the pull out bed for our daughter was above my head. The room attendant was not happy with this at all. We booked an oversized room on the 9th floor so we would have a bit more room than usual and I glad that we did. It was the smallest cabin we have ever stayed in. I am scared to see the size of the regular rooms. This is an older ship and the newer ships do seem to have more room. This cabin did have a bigger bathroom and shower. Great white comforter on the bed, soft and warm. Overall it was an ok vacation but we have sailed with Disney, Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival and we will pick something besides RC for our next cruise.
