Never Cruise During Spring Break

Sail Date: March 01, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

Took my daughter on her first cruise. Of the 2464 people onboard, there were only about 400 people sober. The shows were great, the food was a disappointment compared to that on the Mariner last May. It was like the staff say they could do nothing but keep the college kids drunk so they didn't care about us 50+ guest who were trying to have a great vacation. They were very rude in the dining room and formal night for most consisted of flip flops, jeans, dirty shirts and a tie. The ship was 4 hours late leaving the Bahamas due to several kids not making it back on time and they waited for them. I always thought they went off and left you, sorry about your luck. Overall the cruise was fun, but Royal Caribbean let down their guard when they let that many drunks on at one time. Leave the drunken partying to Carnival Cruise Lines.

Pros: Cocoa Cay

Cons: The drunken college kids, lack of supervision

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!
