A Disasterous Cruise

Sail Date: April 28, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

This ship is the oldest in their fleet and it broke down just before Nassau. We were without water and airconditioning for several hours and almost all the land tours had to be cancelled because we were late getting in. The toilets were backing up, food service was delayed while they searched for paper plates and the tiny cabins felt like furnaces.
Then, they had to cancel the entire day at Coco Cay because of high winds prohibited the use of the tenders. Finally, the trip back to Port Canaveral was so rocky due to high swells that almost our entire party became ill and some vomited all night even with medication. We had planned this as a family reunion and were so disappointed. Royal Caribbean acted like nothing happened and offered no compensation whatsoever.

Pros: Bonding as a family under very trying circumstances

Cons: Almost everything
