We embarked on the 4 day cruise starting 5/4. We embarked easily, and received and upgrade from deck to 9 to deck 10!!(largest cabin before suites) What a pleasant surprize!Food was GREAT! I highly recommend the dining room. Windjammer cafe by the pool was good, but after our first breakfast there my husband and I decided we can "buffet" anytime, and wanted fresh foo and service and a wonderful menu for all the meals. Also, since breakfast and lunch are open seatings, we met lots of great people from around the country. Our waiter Harrish from India, his assistant, the head waiter, and Wendell, our room steward, were first rate(could not have asked for more in that regard). The weather was NOT good- rough seas to Nasau, very breezy there but ok, CocoCay was cancelled due to rough seas(tenders could not be stabalized to get peiople off the ship). Since I am not a "beach person", I was not as upset as others. But the 2 days at sea were lots of fun-between, shopping, gambling, shows, internet, first run movies, food, pool, there is much to entertain. My husband and I thought the Sovereign could use some cosmetic overalling though. It is a wonderful ship, but at 13 yrs old, it needs some repairs, painting, etc. Since it is used 7 days a week, my husband suggested they just "dress up" 4 cabins a week or something, thus maintaining the ship nicely. He noticed there was a repair by the pool that would have taken a very short time to fix, but was left undone. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5(because no one can control weather).Otherwize, it is great for a short cruise, and the staff, food, and fun make for a great time!!!DyeanaD from NJ
