When my husband and I decided to go on this cruise we had no idea what to expect. Little did we know we were about to have our best vacation yet. We sailed from Port Canaveral with overcast skies and shortly entered some rainy and windy weather. Although the seas were rough (an officer of the ship said it was the roughest water he had seen in 2 yrs) the ship handled wonderfully and few in our group were bothered by the movement. Because of the weather we were not able to stop at CoCo Cay,(it would not have been safe for the passengers to try and bored the Tender to the Island) the Captain saved the day and decided to "Chase the Sun". We ended up having 2 great days at sea, with lots of fun at the pool and exploring the ship.I have to make mention of the WONDERFUL dining experience we had. Not only was the food and it's presentation top notch, but the wait staff was terrific! Our waiters Szabolch (we nick named him Axel) and Jorge made us feel as though they were waiting on us alone. The ship was well maintained for one of the older ships in RC's fleet, and we will not hesitate to book another cruise on Sovereign. We can't wait till our next Cruise!
