A great vacations

Sail Date: August 11, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our first vacation on a ship and we did not know how it will be so that's why we went with a group and for a short span. But after the cruise, we wished it was longer. Boy, did we have a great time. It was really enjoyable.

Pros: CocoBay Island

Cons: Rooms/Bathrooms

Cabin / Stateroom
Rooms are extremely small and the bathroom is even smaller.
We are neither claustrophobic nor fat people, but we do need space to move!!!
However, they were kept clean and bed were made ready in time.
Ship Quality
Our ship was big (being our first ship) for us, even though it was the oldest and the smallest of the Royal Caribbean fleet. Ship was maintained and were clean in all areas.
Food and Dining
Dining choices were limited and very restricted.
Entertainment
Were not enough!
Children's Programs
My daughter like the staff and their programs and sometimes did not want to leave.
Service and Staff
Our dining Waiter (Gomes) and Assitant Waiter (Christian) were extremely helpful and friendly. We sincerely wish them success in their career and with their great attitude and outlook, they will suceed. We tipped them nicely (more than recommended) and hope the ship managers' increases their wages.
Nassau, Bahamas
So so. We took a tour guide who took us to different marketplace and showed us the city. He did an excellent job for what he was hired for. The Beach was good and the water clean. Best part was "the Atlantis" and its aquarium.
Don't Miss: the Atlantis and its aquarium.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
We had no idea about the nature of the island, so while we went for the early morning jet skis, we had to leave our daughter on the ship. We could have left her on the beach to play, however the jet skis ride takes about 2 hrs and goes deep into ocean. Then I went back to the boat to pick her up back to the island. For lunch, they had barbeque which was equally great and delicious. While I did snorkeling, my wife and daugher had a blast on the beach swimming with those floating beds. Then, we went for the glass bottom ride which was a total rip-off and borderline fraud. The pamplet clearly shows full glass bottom and australian-line colorful reefs/fishes, however the boat had small 9"x24" glass window here and there and all we saw sand and some green underwater grass. Like I said it was total ripoff. Money should be refunded back to us. But we know it won't be. However if you go for the ride, it was very breezy and enjoyable, however not worth for the money they charged.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling, Jetsking, Parasailing. Avoid: Glass bottom boat ride - It's a rip-off.
