First time cruise

Sail Date: June 13, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was very old and in need of renovation. Our stateroom was located underneath a major walkway and people walking and running above us could be heard to the early hours of the morning. There was an unpleasant odor throughout most of the ship.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful stateroom attendant

Cons: Noise, food

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED)? No.

Ship Quality
The ship was in poor condition, but was clean.
Food and Dining
There was a lot of food to choose from, but most was of poor quality. Some foods weren't kept at proper temperatures. We attended the buffet for dinner because our scheduled seating was for 8:30 PM
Cabin / Stateroom
The stateroom carpet was worn and the bed was very uncomfortable.
Entertainment
There were many different activites throughout the ship
Service and Staff
We got exceptional service from our stateroom attendant. She was very friendly, efficient, and helpful.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
The beach was nice, but the BBQ was of poor quality food. There were too many people for such a small area.
