We had a tough time getting this cruise booked with and I would not recommend their services. Too much to mention here. The cruise, however, was excellent. We really enjoyed the day at Coco Cay...the barbecue was excellent, not just hamburgers and hotdogs as we had thought. The cabin steward and waitstaff could not have been better. All the staff were eager to help and make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The food was very good and available just about anytime. Our party had both fish and steak entrees and found them to all be excellent, not tough as others had mentioned. We did not try Johnny Rocket's or the Ben and Jerry's or Seattle Coffee. Be aware that there is an extra charge for those places. The only negative to the whole trip was that the coffee is terrible. The entertainment was excellent...the comedian was hysterical and while we weren't too thrilled with seeing a juggler, he was SO funny that we ended up watching both of his shows!! The staterooms were small but not unbearable so, and we found the bathroom size to be quite accomodating. We noticed no unusual odors on our level (Deck 2). We had an inside stateroom and found it to be quite adequate for our needs.

Pros: Waitstaff was excellent, great food, awesome entertainment

Cons: Difficulty getting the trip booked through

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
The SOS is being removed from the fleet later this year, but for her age, I think she was in excellent condition.
Food and Dining
We enjoyed every meal, and the dining room service is exceptional. The coffee was horribly strong and a bit bitter, but seemed to be better from the poolside dispensers.
Cabin / Stateroom
Adequate and comfortable. Room was made up twice daily and we always had what we needed.
Service and Staff
Awesome staff...very willing to help. Casey does his job as cruise director quite well. Our server, Maurice, was exceptional. After the first night, the bar server brought our drinks without having us ask! She was great and would serve us in the clubs as well and knew what we wanted without having to ask.
Musical shows were good. Steve, the juggler, is not to be missed if you happen to have him performing on your cruise. Our Comedian was also very funny. The Quest, is also not to be missed, but you may want to just watch! It is an adult-only activity. The scrapbooking class was a waste of time. The person in charge really had no idea what to do with the materials offered, which basically were some diecuts and solid papers. It was a nice idea, but RCI should get someone who knows how to scrapbook to run the class. Might be OK for a beginner, but not for someone with any experience. I only went because it was our day at sea and it was cool and windy outside.
Children's Programs
We had no children in our group but we did check out the facilities and activities for children. There were several children on the cruise and yet they never seemed to be bored. Other parents I spoke with who used the children's services said their kids loved them.
