Good value

Sail Date: January 28, 2008

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was dated but we were informed that it is ending it's life cycle with Royal. Within a few months or less, it will be decommissioned and replaced by 2 brand new large ships, the Independence and Freedom (of the Seas). Still, the service was great and Royal's island of Cococay was gorgeous.

Pros: The service was great and the destinations were beautiful

Cons: The boat was a little dated... see review.

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED) 232? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
They cleaned the rooms at least twice per day. No complaints.
Food and Dining
Loved the dinners and the buffet. Great service.
Ship Quality
Very well kept and good service, but the ship felt dated. It will soon be replaced though so just try for another ship in the meantime.
Service and Staff
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Nassau, Bahamas
Spend as little time as possible in Nassau and as much time as possible on Paradise Island. It's only $4/person for the cab ride there (one way) and it is much, much nicer looking than Nassau.
Don't Miss: The Rainbow Reef excursion was my favorite part about the entire trip.
