Mediocre at best.

The ship stinks, quite literally. It's hard to imagine how a bathroom that gets cleaned twice a day can smell so bad, but the bathroom in our cabin reaked. Every other bathroom that was available to the public was also an afront to the senses. Many of the public restrooms had toilets that had been repaired at one time or another, but no one bothered to put up new instructions for flushing. My group came across at least 4 different flushing mechanisms and had to figure them out each time.

Pros: Having my bed made three times a day.

Cons: The overall smell of the ship.

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED)? No.

Service and Staff
The staff were very friendly, but not often helpful. We were given no warning when we were unable to dock at one of our ports. Cruisers weren't notified until 10 minutes before we were supposed to be getting off the ship.
Food and Dining
Breakfast was always the same and the fresh fruit wasn't usually ripe. If you're a vegetarian plan on eating a lot of salad and pasta with red sauce. If you're not, plan on tough steaks and overdone seafood. The salad bar was great with many fresh veggies to choose from. However, nearly everything prepared by the kitchen was bland or just bad. Overall presentation left a lot to be desired.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a great location - at the end of a corridor so there was very little traffic outside our door. Getting onto the top bunk was a little bit of a trick, but I figured it out eventually. The room was very small with minimal space to store luggage. The main problem was the smell coming from the bathroom. When seasickness necessitated a closer inspection of the toilet I was completely disgusted.
Ship Quality
Entertainment
The shows on this cruise were mediocre at best, and that might be giving them too much credit. The costumes failed to dazzle and the singers were nothing special. The adult comedy show was neither.
Nassau, Bahamas
This is mostly a shopping port. Taking the buses around town is pretty easy and much cheaper than a cab. The beach nearest the port is hard on the feet, but walking onto the beaches behind resorts is easier than you'd think. Take the #10 bus and head for Cable Beach.
Don't Miss: Cable Beach
