The best vacation EVER

Sail Date: May 07, 2007

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was large but not too large to stroll around and see everything. The ship had everything we needed plus a lot we didn't know we needed until we were on the ship.

Pros: The attention the crew paid to our 2 year old

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Service and Staff
Our dining room waiter, Terrance, went out of his way for us. For example, on the night we left our daughter with a babysitter he noticed that she was not with us and wanted to know if she had eaten. He then proceeded to order dinner for her and then walked it to our cabin himself to give to our daughter.
Entertainment
Children's Programs
We didn't hardly ever see our 13 year old after she discovered Fuel - the teenage program.
Our 2 year old was too young to go to the children's programs but we did tour the facility and she would have loved to play with all that they had for the kids to do.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were surprised that 4 people could fit comfortably in such a small stateroom but we did and the stateroom attendants kept our room clean for us. The only drawback was that we did not have a double bed, but it worked out well, anyway.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The dining time we had was 8:30 PM. It was good for adults but not good for our 2 year old. She kept falling asleep at dinner! But the crew made a bed for her out of 2 chairs and she slept great.
Nassau, Bahamas
We didn't like this port because when we walked out there were at least 10 people that asked if we wanted our hair braided - which we didn't - and at least 20 that wanted to give us a "good deal" of some kind or other. We are not used to people harrassing us like that and felt very uncomfortable and our safety threatened.
