Problems on the Sovereign of the Seas

Sail Date: January 22, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The Sovereign of the Seas is showing her adavnced age in more ways that one. The carpets in the public areas are a bit shabby and the upholstery on the dining room chairs definitely need to be replaced...but the worst problems were the non flusing toilets and the flood we had in our stateroom when the floor drain backed up. Yucky!!!!
All in alll, it's back to Carnival for us!

Pros: The staff were warm and effiecient.

Cons: The plumbing problems on the 20 year old ship.

Recommends Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED)? No.

Ship Quality
On a couple of occassions there was only one show time for "all guests" announced for the showroom...but many people had to stand since there were not enough seats for all.
Food and Dining
The food was "OK"...but not as good as what we have had on other cruise lines.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was "OK" until the batroom floor drain gurgled up a flood for the floor...not a pretty of fragrant event!
Service and Staff
The staff were efficient and friendly.
The shows were a bit dated ...and the singing was sub-par, although the dancers were definitely high-energy. The staging was quite basic.
