A "Short but Sweet" Cruise

Sail Date: November 24, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The fact that the Sovereign of the Seas is a refurbished older ship makes it elegant and cozy. It was granddaughters' (14 and 11) first cruise and they were a bit worried at first because they had just seen The Poseidon Adventure! Once they realized the ship was pretty stable, they enjoyed the trip, in particular, dressing up for dinner. However, their one negative comment was that there were not enough organized teen activities. My children and I are planning a family cruise to celebrate my 65th birthday - late 2007 or early 2008 and would love to use Royal Caribbean again - preferably the Sovereign of the Seas.

Pros: The pleasantness and attentiveness of the service staff

Cons: Not enough organized teen activities

The frienliness and pleasant manners of all staff were remarkable - in particular, our dining room Assostant Waiter who volunteered to cut the meat for our 11 year old!
