Awesome in every way!

Sail Date: June 01, 2012

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

Our family had never been on a cruise before . The Serenade of the Seas met and exceeded all our expectations. The beds in cabins were amazingly comfortable, food was great, boarding and disembarking was run with military precision, activities for kids were great. We really had a fantastic time. I did notice that there was nothing really giong on for the age group from 18 - 25yrs - we had a 19yr old in our group who was at a bit of a loose end at times - some organised activities to break the ice with this age group may be an option for those late teenagers/early twenties who have been dragged along on a family holiday.

Pros: Service at all levels was superlative - a fantastic way to have a family holiday

Cons: Some of the entertainment wasn't exactly stellar - that said\, only impacted very minorly on brilliant holiday

Recommends Serenade of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Staff worked tirelessly to keep the ship immaculate - very impressive
Food and Dining
Food was excellent - we ate in the main dining room each night with our family of 15 members. Food was always served hot and at the same time for all of us. The availability of food at different venues was amazing - something for everyone all the time!
Cabin / Stateroom
We had the most basic of the staterooms - ie. it had no windows (porthole) or balcony. However\, it was kepy immaculate by our stateroom attendant who met our every request and went above and beyond duty to keep us comfortable. The stateroom was extremely well designed and layed out so that\, despite its small area\, we were very comfortable and found space for all our clothes and goodies. Bathrooms were great too - very well laid out and showers were a really present surprise - great pressure and lots of hot water.
Service and Staff
Could not fault any of the staff - they epitomised brilliant service.
Entertainment
The entertainers were quite good but there were times (in the Schooner Bar...) when one wished for someone with a bit more talent (silence would have been preferable at times!). The enthusiasm of Ricky and Michelle (the cruise directors) could not be faulted though - they were amazing and just kept going and going and going! Very impressive.
Children's Programs
Our kids went to kid's club (had a 5yrs old and an 11yr old. There were also teenagers in the group who really enjoyed the club acitivities.
