Review summary

The ship was a perfect size. It was small enough to get personal service but large enough to have plenty of activities for the kids. It would have been nice to have more activities for the teens. Mine would not get involved because were required to sit and talk instead of participate in activities. More dodgeball, ping pong or video events would have been great for them. They wanted to do stuff, but had to settle for playing with each other instead of meeting new people. The pools were totally awesome, perfect temperature and beautiful. I loved the separate area for the adults. The bar service was always there when your glass was empty. (Just wish was a little less expensive and could have spent more)! I definitely recommend the beverage package for the kids. That was well worth it and no need to sign everytime they wanted a soda! Wish they had an unlimited beverage for beer, wine or cocktails! The captain was very competent also. We had to change our itinerary due to a tropical storm, but ship remained calm and steady. We still visited all our ports. Due to the schedule change, I was worried out excursion (booked through a travel agent ahead of time) would be uninformed, so the customer service desk allowed me to make a complimentary call from the ship to the excursion. That was very much appreciated and relieved stress from my worries!

You must take a catamaran sail and snorkel! They took us to a special reef and we even saw jelly fish! Once we realized you could pet them, there was no stopping the snorkeling. It was awesome. We found a more remote beach later on and the taxi driver even waited an hour while we swam for no extra charge. It was about 10 mins away from ship port.
Don't Miss: snorkeling

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Lord Sheffeild tall ship adventure. (St. Maarten's Sophisiticated Pirate ship) and the shopping was good on Front Street. The staff and captain on the Pirate ship was far beyond excellent. They never let your glass be empty and cooked great food. I highly recommend them for a fun sail, snorkel and a all around great time.
Don't Miss: sailing and snorkeling

The tour of the island was quite informative. We had a taxi driver show us around and he was very proud of his island. The natives don't seem to have much but are very happy and proud people. The beach he took us to at the end was beautiful pink sand and clear water, but very busy. Would have prefered a less busy place.
Don't Miss: beach

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
