1) The food quality was quite poor 2) The staff did not go above-and-beyond compared with previous cruises I have taken 3) There were few activities for younger couples 4) There were strange, sulfurous smells near the mini-golf course on some days 5) The ship was clean and looked nice 6) The climbing wall and mini-golf were enjoyable

Ports of call

Bridgetown, Barbados

The people here seemed most friendly of all the islands in the Southern Caribbean, and the beaches were beautiful. The SCUBA diving, however, was mediocre at our dive sight.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

The shopping here is overrated, but we enjoyed our SCUBA diving in this location

St. John's, Antigua

We actually really liked our SCUBA diving here, but a fishing boat started dropping cages on the reef while we were diving. Apparently the local authorities don't enforce the fishing rules on the island, which will hurt tourism generally and dive conditions specifically in the coming years

Castries, St. Lucia

This is a truly beautiful island despite the poor road conditions. Go down to Soufriere if you get a chance and explore the surrounding area.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We went to Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay on St. John's and found them to be a bit overrated (besides taking a considerable amount of the day just to access). Perhaps Magen's Bay would be better for those seeking a bay due to its more convenient location.

Pros: SCUBA in Antigua, sightseeing in St. Lucia

Cons: Poor food quality, uninspired evening shows, and few younger-couple activities

Recommends Serenade of the Seas? No.
