Review SummaryFirst booked the continental hotel in san juan for precruise. Be aware that they charge an extra resort fee when you get there. The rooms are gross...but the beach and pool area are awesome. Also location is close to airport and short cab ride to pier.
We had 10th level balcony cabin. NO complaints. Great staff, food etc.
Excursion staff did not know anything about excursions. We had 2 expensive and horrible excursions out of the 4 we booked. Snorkle trip in Tortola...did not have enough equipment for everyone to snorkle and no fins for anyone. Do not get off in Grenada...we paid $225 to be stuffed in the back of an overcrowded truck and driven around the island for 5 hours. It was hell! I think they were trying to give us the experience of being a refugee sneaking illegally across a border. WE were all car sick...and wet...it rained. We did stop to hike up a mucky mountain (no one had proper footware including the guide) to see a sulfur puddle. 50 school age children were there trying to get in the puddle.. The guide was reluctant to speak to us or answer any questions. Also went first down to path to the truck and waited while we all mucked our way down. She had no idea if we were safe etc. We were then taken to a bathroom where we were agressively harrased to buy spices etc. I complained about these excursions and filled out form asking for at least partial refund on the second. Response was a letter thanking me for my helpful feedback.
