My trip on the ms Ryndam through the Norwegian fjords was even more than I had anticipated. The beauty of the villages and the fjords, the cleanliness of each town was much more than expected. The Flam train on the first stop is a "must" to view the beautiful waterfalls along the way.
Certainly, one of the highlight shore excursions was the "king crab catch" in Honingsvag. Certainly worth the cost, and the crab for lunch was wonderful.
Another highlight, and probably the most beautiful of all the fjords was at Geiranger. Be sure to take the bus to the top of the mountain for the spectacular views of the fjord below. Geiranger rivals Milford Sound in the South Island of New Zealand for its beauty!
The Ryndam provided excellent entertainment each day while on board. From the various lounge performers and piano bar to the superb stage shows, I have found Holland American to have some of the best entertainment at sea, and that includes some six star ships I have been on.

The only issue with the Ryndam is access to the Main Dining room on Deck 7.
You must go aft on Deck 8 and then go down to Deck 7 to the entrance.
Other than that, for a mid-size ship (55,000 tons, 1260 passengers) the Ryndam provided more amenities than many other ships much larger.
