Review SummaryOur Christmas cruise aboard the ms Ryndam was very enjoyable. Although an older ship, it was spotless. The bathroom was by far the largest we've seen in an outside oceanview stateroom, having included a bathtub, provisioned with amenities like soaps, shampoo and conditioner, etc. Service and meals in the upper level Rotterdam Dining room were excellent on the formal nights. Canaletto and every location we tried were also good. Unfortunately, we never did get a reservation at the Pinnacle Grill. The entertainment this trip, with the exception of the impressionist/comedian/multi-instrumentalist, was very disappointing.
The Ryndam's crew was outstanding. Our cabin staff, after meeting us the first evening always greeted us by name whenever they saw us. They were friendly and caring, replenishing our ice bucket twice a day and doing their best to fulfill our fruit request. In fact, there developed a friendly competition between our daughter (an artist) and the cabin staff in creating towel animals. The staff at the Front Desk were courteous and helpful, even to the point of lending my wife a scotch tape dispenser to do her last-minute gift wrapping. The crew in the Lido dining room were also friendly and helpful and were never at a loss for a witty comeback; always a pleasure to talk with.
