Wonderful cruise. I read on line and had heard from friends that Royal Caribbean cruise line was better than Holland cruise Line. I beg to differ. We have traveled on Royal Caribbean. My wife and I both liked Holland better. The food, staff and shows were all better. We liked the "older' age group as well. We met 4  couples of like mind. One Welsh couple and three Australian couples. Great fun. Great trip.

Norse Legends is a great cruise!

We enjoyed our cruise from Harwich, Eng. on the Ryndam.  As always on Holland America Lines, we recieved excellent service, delicious food and a comfortable stateroom. The cruising of the Fjords of Norway was a scenic delight and surpassed all expectations.  We also enjoyed the ports of call.  My only complaint is lack of reasonably priced wifi and mediocre entertainment.  We did enjoy the Duo Adagio.  Would have enjoyed more professionally choreographed shows in the Showtime.  Not a major problem, but worth mentioning.  All in all, we would highly recommend the Norse Legend Cruise.

7 Night Viking Sagas personal experience

The ship was OK (15-20 years old) but well maintained. The cruise crew was friendly but not as talkative as in other cruises. Managers were professional but not as proactive as in other cruises.

We have problem with our designated cabin. It was also assigned to a cruise crew and we, no the cruise crew member, were relocated to another cabin. We have problems in the new cabin with items that did not work properly (TV remote, A/C and toilet) but that is a separate story.

The towns we visited were very nice. Scenery was amazing.

The shows (singers and dancers) were very good. For the first time in our experience, the music from the orchestra did not overpower the singers (you could actually hear the singers).

The cabin (interior) was larger than in any other ship we have travel with, except for one cruise line. Also the bathroom was larger than usual.

The cruise price were very reasonable. The tours were very expensive. On the other hand, every thing in Norway is expensive.

Remember, remember, remember -- You can't get from the front of the ship to the back (or vice-versa!) on Deck 7. Use Deck 6 or 8 and then the stairs/elevator when you want to go to the Dining Room!

We especially appreciated the fact that there was a Catholic priest on board. We have attended interdenominational services on other ships but were pleased Catholic mass was celebrated on the ship. We have not experienced this on any other cruise lines.

Take advantage of the peaceful Lower Promenade deck where there are wooden loungers in the style of the early 1900's voyages transatlantic. Pads were available for the chairs and you could catch a nap or catch up on reading. No other ship I have been on had this feature with loungers on the side
