Review summary
The pros: excellent staff in every area of the ship. Well trained, professional, courteous and accommodating. Beautiful ship. Good ports. Good size mini suites. Everything well organized including amazingly efficient embarkation and debarkation. 5 minutes after meeting in our "grouping area" we were heading off the ship and 20 minutes later we were leaving the Port Everglades parking garage. This was not an exception; last year after our 2 week cruise on her sister ship Regal Princess it was the same amazing process. This past summer after a 1 week cruise on the RC Allure it took almost 2 hours to get off and out.
The only con: the quality of the food has deteriorated. Princess has obviously decided to cut food costs. Again service is great in every area but not the food quality including the steak house (Chops). The main dining room menu selections are very inferior and pedestrian, from the appetizers and soups to the entres and deserts. Their list of "regulars" that they have every night now includes a hamburger instead of a strip steak. One of the entres early on the cruise was duck larange. What came out were 2 deep fried partial wings with no meat and an orange sauce which I am sure was marmalade. Terrible. From that point on we ate all meals in the Horizon Court buffet where the food was actuallly very good and with great selections, except for 2 nights in Chops. Both nights there we had ribeyes. The first was good but the second was poor. Not worth going back a 3rd time so we cancelled our reservation.
