Overall we had a great time. We wish we could have stayed longer in some locations. Our choice of date was lucky because many of the places we went had festivals going on. Downtown Liverpool was completely shut off to traffic. Edenburgh had the arts festival with buskers everywhere.

Cabin / Stateroom
Excellent room. Bed was comfortable. Descent sized TV. We really enjoyed the free movie channel. All the latest films.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Great service to and from downtown London to ship and back to airport. Ship departure was delayed, so we got to spend the afternoon in Winchester, en route. Great fun. Embarkation was confusing and frustrating. We were supposed to get a ticket to be called for boarding, but the first crew member neglected to tell us and the table where we later discovered you got the tickets was unattended when we went in. As a result, we sat for 11/2 hours waiting to board. We realized you needed a ticket, and I asked an attendant. She asked me to show her mine and the only ticket I had was the bus pass which was green. She just saw the colour and said green would be called after yellow so we waited. Anyways, we realized our ticket wasn't right when I saw someone else with a green ticket, but a different shade. When we finally got this straightened out they put us right through. We have been on 7 previous cruises, several with Princess and have never seen this method used. It makes sense, but they need to make sure people know where to go. We weren't the only ones caught like this as we later found out in talking to others
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
We didn't get into Dublin (which was the main purpose of the trip as my wife's maiden name is O'Connell) due to inclement weather. The circumstances on the captain's decision were perfectly understandable. We were told we were lucky because we had great weather every day except that one. Be sure to take rain gear and an umbrella.
Onboard Activities
Be aware that this cruise is not conducive to outdoor activities on board. even in August in decent weather, it is hard to use the pool, even though it is heated. Outdoor movies require bundling up. They did have indoor movies as well in one of the lounges. It's the reality of the climate.
Service and Staff
Great room service and room attendant. Some lack of communication. Some of the crew was not aware of ongoing changes or locations onboard.
