Review Summary

Great cruise. One I could do again. Very busy with a port every day but one. Can be very active on this and do a lot of bike tours. I saw some folks who brought their own bikes to get around Nova Scotia and Maine. Good idea.

The cruise port in Montreal is right downtown. Walked over from my hotel to the cruise port and walked on. No line, no waiting. got my keycard and went right to room.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Had a free beverage package. $50 a day is the usual price for 12 drinks of all types. Did not have that much. In the past I stick to water and tea, but had some drinks daily including cappuccino. It took away the hesitation about buying drinks, but I don't drink enough for it to be worth it. All my sodas etc were in cans as well, so this was not small glasses of soda. Chocolate surprise with 10-12 chocolate passed desserts throughout the ship one night was great.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
This cruise only had one sea day. So not a lot of chance to experience on board activities. I have some favorites that I continued to do - Sip and Savor and Trivia are my favorites. New additions were not so hot. The America's Test Kitchen demonstration was less interesting than what they had in the past. Too commercial and I did not like cutting to the video for an explanation of Parmesan cheese.

The singers and dancers were great. There was a piano guy who was good. Comedy and Magic as well. Could do the movies, dancing, or the shows.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

Fantastic service. I always marvel at how they remember your name

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
very clean. This is an older ship, so some did not like the decor, carpet etc. I thought it was clean and looked good.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
plenty of room, plenty of storage. I was on the lower promenade deck and enjoyed being able to pop in and out of the cabin. This is great when it is a cruise that is not too cold.

Ship Tip

Very easy to get around. The 4th floor does not go all the way through due to the Kitchen. I like to walk on the lower promenade outside deck to get to dining, shows etc. Get the extra steps in .

Ports Of Call

Montreal, Quebec

beautiful city. port right in old Montreal. Lots of museums, shops, cafes to visit. I took the hop on hop off bus tour and saw many parts I would not have gone to including great views of the city.

Quebec City, Quebec

My favorite city port. very quaint and very walkable. Just be prepared to climb a lot of stairs.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

great countryside. small town but easy to walk into town to see the local sights. The most interesting parts for me were further away, so I took an island tour. Saw the Bridge, Anne of Green Gables, and Cavendish beach. Great little shop that sold jams etc in Cavendish. Misty/rainy - but that is not unusual for the Maritimes.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

This is also an area where the countryside and national park are highlights. In town there were a few areas that had people selling their craft wares. I enjoyed that. Had some great end of season deals in town.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

This is a great city and could spend 3 days there and even more exploring the countryside. Lots to do. This is Canada's 150 year anniversary so all the public sites were free to enter.

Bar Harbor, Maine

A great point to get to Acadia. Town is cute with shops, etc. Boat had to tender but the bay is so smooth that it was not an issue. Town has a steep hill if you have mobility issues. Lots of cute shops.

Boston, Massachusetts

Port pretty far away from Anything. Closest to BayFront Convention Center. You cannot (and should not) walk anywhere from the port. So plan a tour of take a taxi someplace. JFK library is close.
