Cruise spoilt by dirty noisey room and by lack of any planning when they knew the ship was going to be delayed by fog. Good points was the food, entertainment, friendly staff, and Santorini

Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Cabin was dirty on our arrival, but quickly clean when we complained, room very noisy and air conditioning did not work properly. They did try to sort it out but only made slight improvement to noise level. Lost a few nights sleep at beginning of cruise
Fog delayed ship by 12 hour and then thrown off ship in to a dark damp foggy car park for 5 hour while shore crew decided what to do with us, then taken to hotels to find a room, flown home next day to different airport to the one we had left from.
Room was 7077 noise appeared to be coming from the air conditioning unit and from behind the wall where the bed was so making it impossible to sleep. Room had make-up on walls and doors.
Fog was no body's fault. We planned to stay behind a day after the cruise to explore Venice. I never been to Venice and I was disappointed that I have almost no time to visit the city. Good thing is We planned to stay a day behind and booked a hotel. Otherwise I was to be one of those who need to rebook their return flight home.
I would like to know more about the dirty and noisy room. Where were you located and what type of noise were you bothered by? I am booked third week in November and in a mini-suite directly aft. Who was your room attendant? Thanks for the info.
If you had left in a cold foggy damp car park for nearly 5 hours you would not have been to happy. And the when we taken to a hotel it was full then at a 2nd hotel we were asked to share a room. we do not have an issue with the decision to delay the ship our issue was the lack of organisation after ship docked.
What planning could they have done??? Sail up the Grand Canal regardless?? Contravene every health and safety aspect?? The Captain had a duty of care, I was on this cruise, was it frustrating?? Yes!! But it was beyond everybody's control!! The port authorities, harbour master and the captain had a duty of care and they did it to the best of their abilities!! I wouldn't sail up the Grand Canal in such thick fog, would you???? !!!!
I am sure everyone at Cruise Ship Central knew the fog was coming in on your departure time MONTHS in advance. THEY intentionally stuck it to you. And you did not even see it coming because of THE FOG!!!
