Our Western Caribbean cruise on the Rhapsody of the Seas was 'first class' from the moment we arrived at the airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Our luggage was picked up for us and delivered to our cabin after an efficient, quick (10-15 minutes) and professional check-in at the ship. On entering the main salon of the Rhapsody of the Sea for the first time, we were impressed with the spaciousness and elegance of the surroundings. Our inside cabin was clean and comfortable. The cabin steward was great and every evening when he turned down the beds he would leave animal figures( swans, turtles, rabbits, etc) made out of the pillows and towels. It was quite unique and fun. The rest of the ships international staff was equally superb. All treated the guests with friendliness and courtesy. We never saw anything but smiles on any of the faces of the crew. Activities and entertainment on the ship was varied, well publicized and quite professional. The food, the food was excellent at very meal. There was food available from breakfast till dawn. If you were ever hungry it was your own fault. Departure check-out was equally efficient. Baggage was moved from your room to the airline counters set up on the dock. Royal Caribbean definitely had every detail of the cruise planned out and geared to the guests' total enjoyment of the cruise. Bottom line: If your going on your first cruise these folks have set the standard and would be hard to beat.
