Review summary

This was our first time on the Regal Princess. We were very excited about taking a cruise on a newer ship as it was our first time. Indeed, the design and sparkle of the ship was breathtaking. The check in process was smooth and efficient. Employees were very welcoming upon our arrival. Personal to direct us to our room was appreciated. When entering the room, the process of turning on the lights was not explained, nor where the hairdryer was located. This would have been helpful. The room was clean and larger than expected. While on our stay it was serviced by an exceptional room attendant, Mary Jane Campos. She was friendly and helpful.

The presentation of the food was always pleasing. However, although it looked good, we found that it did not rate as high as other cruises we have been on. . .the seafood seemed to always be mushy. The food was acceptable but not outstanding. We appreciated the hard work of the dinner staff and the quick service with beverages. The buffet areas were well maintained and always looked appetizing. Also, it would be nice to have another area to get free coffee on the lower decks.

The smoking area on the 17th floor was well maintained.

We realize it was a large ship but the number of people tended to overwhelm us. Arriving 45 minutes early to get a seat for a show was a bit much. Entertainment was enjoyable. Many of the activities on the ship leaned toward those over 80 years old.

We did our laundry once. While using the washing machine there was an overflow in one of the pipes. We called for help but my husband ended up cleaning up the floors himself as no one showed up to help us. We noticed the floor was damp when we arrived but didn't imagine there was a major problem.

On the whole, we enjoyed our cruise except for these few little snags. You have the process of leaving the ship down to a science. It was a dream.

So many people at one time on the island. Coordinating with other cruise lines to avoid this would be great.

We just finished the cruise on Regal Princess. Ditto your comments. My wife and I enjoyed every moment on the ship. We did not do any excursions but instead enjoyed the beaches and local fare. Refreshed - back to work, back to doing what I love every day.
