Review summary

Shop area is quite a bit smaller than any other ship we have been on. The last night there was a charge to our minibar and we never use this service, (corrected before we debarked). Bed not turned down the first night. No mints on the pillows. No dedicated wine steward in the main dining room, asst waiter took care of it. This cruise line does not enforce their own policy on main dining attire. We have sailed with at least 4 other lines and Cunard was the only one to honor their dress code policy. Overall, there was a feeling that they were cutting a lot of corners. Still a good cruise but not up to the standards of previous ones. This may be pervasive of the entire industry now though and if so, we will wait until service gets back to what it was.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Great food but the menu seemed a bit pared down. The quality and service was excellent though. The waite staff was exceptional. The lack of enforcement of the dress code was a downer.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Very good.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
The lack of a dedicated wine steward and a less than satisfacory room attendant caused the lower rating here.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Shopping area was a lot smaller than we thought it would be based upon the size of the ship. The sale items were a lot more limited and were of a more inferior nature than on past cruises.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
A lot bigger balcony than we had previously had on other ships.

Pros: Great Food. Excellent Entertainment

Cons: The frills have been greatly downgraded.
