Review summary

Great cruise - my first in 10 years since our honeymoon cruise in the mediterranean. This one was much better as it had a wider variety of people and the ship is much nicer overall. Seems a 4 night cruise out of san diego to cabo brings lots of people over 30, who live in california mostly. many groups of women and of course lots of heavy drinkers - i suppose that's typical on most cruises since they don't have to drive. this one didn't seem as much of a party cruise as the carnival one did, hence our choice of Royal Caribbean. They have a great adults only pool area on this one and the nicer restaurants are completely worth the money. Staff on the cruise was excellent. Boarding was super smooth - both getting on & off ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
with the exception of the nicer restaurants (portofino & chops) - the food was 3-4 star hotel quality. not great but not awful.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
they need more dance lessons, earlier dancing for us early birds and the "production" was kind of a joke. glad they had a cinema though - that was great.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
if i'd have brought my kids they would have had a blast

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
as long as you don't get a cabin on deck 2 - the portholes/windows are really big on this ship.

Pros: Portofino's Restaurant

Cons: Heavy drinkers
