Cabin choice is critical!

Sail Date: September 20, 2015

Room Type: Inside

Cabin: 4045

Almost everything about this Transatlantic sailing was absolutely wonderful.  The service was superior at every level.  The quality and selection of food was excellent.  The entertainment was unique and interesting (RADA acting company, Phillip Browne).  Lectures were very informative.  The stateroom itself was clean and adequate.  We knew it would be small, and it was just fine. Our cabin steward was great as well!  The problem was the location of the stateroom....right above the Royal Court Theatre where all the evening entertainment takes place!  We were not informed that we would be listening to rehearsals during the day and shows until late in the evening....one night until 11:30PM.  It was loud and disruptive. It occurs to us that passengers who chose ocean view cabins that were located behind lifeboats were informed that their views would be obstructed.  Why wouldn't people in rooms vulnerable to theatre noise be similarly cautioned?  If we should choose the QM2 again, we'll be very careful about choosing a more comfortable, quiet cabin.

Cabin / Stateroom
Cabin was fine, location was poor due to proximity directly above the Royal Court Theatre.

If you have extended time in NYC, consider staying on Staten Island and ferrying over to Manhattan every day. It worked wonderfully for us. We stayed at the Hampton Inn which offered a daily free shuttle to the ferry terminal.
