Typically, not until a few days till embarking. They have to wait until everyone who gets to pick their location has picked. The leftover cabins that know one wanted then are divided up among the Guaranteed cabins.

If you’ve booked a guaranteed cabin you might not find out which cabin you are assigned until you check in at the port. However it usually happens before than but there is not standard start day when they assign them.

Not sure what you mean by this. Are you talking about if you let them pick your cabin?

it depends. if you picked your room (which cost more then letting Royal Caribbean pick your room) then you get your room assigned to you right away. But if you let them pick your room, you'll probably receive your assignment 3 weeks before you sail.

We once booked guaranteed room, we only got a cabin three days before cruising on Quantum. But after seeing a video of people refused a cabin on embarkation day, cause the ship was fully booked,I’ll never take that chance again, our agency said it can take up to the day of embarkation day, too stressful
